　　In August, by the shores of Lake Tai, the summer heat pulsed with vibrant energy. Twenty outstanding young representatives from eight countries—the UK, Germany, France, South Korea, Serbia, Hungary, Romania, and North Macedonia—came to Wuxi with high hopes for this eastern tech hub, answering the call of Elite in Wuxi, Connecting Globally – Wuxi Innovation Youth Camp. They measured the city's industrial depth with their footsteps and felt the warmth of Jiangnan's culture with their senses, redefining their image of a Chinese city model. The short camp session became a lasting starting point for Sino-foreign sci-tech exchange.

　　8月的太湖之滨，热浪与活力同频共振。来自英国、德国、法国、韩国、塞尔维亚、匈牙利、罗马尼亚、北马其顿8个国家的20名优秀青年代表，带着对东方科创高地的憧憬，赴约“锡有菁英 智联全球——无锡K创青年营”。他们用脚步丈量无锡的产业厚度，用感官触摸江南的人文温度，重新定义着他们眼中的中国城市样本，短暂营期成为了中外科创交流的长效起点。

　　

　　Sci-tech innovation enables young people from all countries to align with the needs of the era through exploration and breakthroughs, achieving personal growth in sync with social development. From August 7 to 12, during the six-day camp, three dialogue sessions and seminars were held, focusing on ideological exchange and sci-tech integration, centering on global frontier trends and urban industrial development, and building a platform for cross-border brainstorming, in-depth discussion, resource sharing, and mutual progress among Chinese and foreign youth.

　　At the Toward Taihu Lake – Youth Dialogue on Future Industries, Chinese and foreign young participants exchanged views on future industry trends, practical challenges in sci-tech innovation, and opportunities for transnational cooperation, bringing global perspectives and sharing experiences from various fields. Serbian computer science doctoral student Ostojić proposed establishing a Wuxi-Belgrade joint doctoral exchange laboratory to promote the development and application of AI technologies in industry. Romanian agricultural researcher Daniel expressed his hope for long-term collaboration between Romania and China in sci-tech innovation, enabling two-way flows of youth ideas and technologies. Zhang Yuhang, head of Wuxi Springailab, is actively promoting AI + handicrafts into universities and onto the international stage, and his presentation sparked strong interest among the international youth.

　　Unlike traditional site visits, the Wuxi K-Creative Youth Camp created a three-dimensional exchange model combining dialogue seminars, industry visits, and cultural immersion. "I'm not a space expert, but I am a molecular biologist, and I believe humanity will soon enter the era of astrobiology," said Romanian youth Baczoni Balazs at the  Sino-foreign youth sci-tech talent symposium. He noted that he had seen in the news that China had already conducted crop cultivation experiments in space, which deeply impressed him. In his view, realizing the future blueprint of space exploration requires close cooperation among all countries.

　　不同于传统的参观走访，无锡K创青年营构建起“对话研讨+产业参访+文化浸润”的立体交流场景。在参观完商业航天展厅后，罗马尼亚青年巴佐尼·巴拉兹在随后举行的中外青年科创人才座谈会上介绍，“我虽然不是航天专家，但我是分子生物学家，我认为人类很快会进入天体生物学时代。”他在新闻里看到中国已经在太空开展作物种植实验，这令他感到非常震撼。在他看来，想要实现太空探索的未来蓝图，离不开各国携手合作。

　　

　　Through visits, exchanges, and seminars, the Chinese and foreign youth representatives closely aligned with industrial development realities, analyzed global sci-tech innovation trends, deeply dissected the points of synergy and leverage for Sino-foreign sci-tech collaboration, and actively explored new paths for transnational innovation cooperation, technological linkage, and talent co-development. At a special seminar held at the BTU Yixing Co.Five Youth Community in Hufu Town, the participants focused on urban-rural development and opening-up, engaging in in-depth discussions and offering suggestions on two core topics: Building China's rural international travel destinations and Empowering Chinese enterprises' global expansion with world youth. They integrated advanced international operational concepts and overseas market resources with Wuxi's rural cultural tourism advantages and the needs of enterprises going global, injecting youthful energy and international momentum into the internationalization of Wuxi's rural cultural tourism.

　　From the diverse application scenarios at the Wuxi Brain-Computer Science Innovation Demonstration Center, to the smart manufacturing benchmark at Far East Cable, and the green exploration at the Nanjing University Yixing Environmental Research Institute, Wuxi showcased its hard-core strengths to global youth through vivid sci-tech scenarios. Putting on a headset and focusing on the track, French master's student from Nîmes University, Lhouciene, made a small car move with his mind, and it ran faster and faster. "This experience was fantastic—it was the first time in my life I could visually see the fluctuations in my concentration. This technology can help humans better perceive their own states; it has great practical value." As a law student, he believed that the implementation of brain-computer technology requires compliance with numerous laws, regulations, and agreements, as well as relevant consultations, before it can better serve society.

　　从无锡脑机科学创新示范中心的多元应用场景，到远东电缆的智能制造标杆，再到南京大学宜兴环保研究院的绿色探索，无锡用一个个鲜活的科创场景，向全球青年展示了这座城市的“硬核”实力。戴上头环，紧盯赛道，法国尼姆大学硕士卢西恩用意念操控的小车动了起来，越跑越快。“这次体验太棒了，我人生中第一次直观看到自己专注力的起伏变化。这种技术能帮助人类更好地觉察自身状态，很有实用价值。”学法律的他认为，脑机科学技术的落地需要遵守大量法律法规、协议约定，还要经过相关磋商，才能更好地服务于社会。

　　

　　

　　This was not just a six-day sci-tech exchange, but also a city connection across mountains and seas. Riding the bus west all the way to Yixing's countryside, upon getting off, Oliver, a master's student from the London School of Economics and Political Science, noticed roadside opera signs and found them very novel. When he saw that the local area actually offered authentic Italian pizza and excellent coffee, he marveled at how internationally developed China had become. "When I go back, I will definitely tell everyone around me that one of the best coffees I've ever had was actually in rural China," Oliver said.

　　这不仅是一场为期6天的科创交流，更是一次跨越山海的“城市相知”。乘着大巴一路西行，抵达宜兴乡村后下车，英国伦敦政治经济学院硕士奥利弗注意到了路边的戏曲标识，他觉得十分新奇。当看到当地居然能吃到正宗意大利披萨、喝到品质绝佳的咖啡时，他感叹，中国国际化发展程度之高。“回国后，我一定会和身边人说，我喝过最好喝的咖啡之一，居然是在中国的乡村喝到的。”奥利弗说。

　　Industrial strength, innovative vitality, cultural charm—Wuxi has many facets. At the K-Creative Youth Camp, international youth immersed themselves in the city's multiple dimensions. Walking into the China Yixing Ceramics Museum, intangible heritage artisans taught the campers ceramic painting hands-on. Riae Kim, a student from Cheongju University in South Korea, experienced the local culture with great enthusiasm, exclaiming that Yixing was very green and its people very friendly—"People living here are so happy." Sitting in the stands of Yixing Sports Center, watching the Suchao match between Wuxi and Yancheng, Ivan, a university student from North Macedonia, cheered for Wuxi again and again. "The Suchao stadium was so exciting; the fans' passion nearly set the whole arena on fire," Ivan said, adding that he had already fallen in love with the city.

　　产业实力、创新活力、人文魅力……无锡不止一面，在K创青年营，国际青年沉浸式感受着这座城市的多重切面。走进宜兴陶瓷博物馆，非遗匠人手把手教营员们陶瓷彩绘，韩国清州大学学生金俐厓用心体验着当地风物，她直呼宜兴非常“绿色”，宜兴人十分“友好”，“生活在这里的人们太幸福了”。坐在宜兴体育馆的看台上，观战“苏超”比赛无锡队迎战盐城队，来自北马其顿的大学生伊万一次次为无锡队呐喊助威。“‘苏超’赛场太让人惊喜了，球迷们的热情几乎要点燃整座球场。”伊万说，自己已经深深爱上了这座城市。

　　

　　Today, the core competitive factors for cities include not only the competition for young talent but also the capacity for global connectivity. Many international exchange events tend to fall into the trap of one-time galas: a lively opening, a packed itinerary, and after the event ends, connections fade and exchanges rarely crystallize into tangible outcomes. The design of Wuxi's Innovation Youth Camp aims to break this limitation. A relevant official from the Wuxi Foreign Affairs Office told reporters that the event was jointly organized by the Wuxi Foreign Affairs Office, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, and the Municipal Youth Federation, inviting outstanding overseas sci-tech talents. The core purpose was to enable deep interaction and long-term connections between overseas youth and local Wuxi youth; meanwhile, they hope to facilitate long-term cooperation and attract overseas youth to work and start businesses in Wuxi, with government departments providing full support.

　　当下，城市竞争的核心要素中，既有青年人才的竞争，也有全球链接能力的比拼。很多国际交流活动容易陷入“一次性盛会”的困境：热闹的开营、紧凑的行程，活动落幕之后，联系随之淡化，交流难以沉淀为实质成果。无锡K创青年营的设计，正在试图打破这一局限。无锡市外办相关负责人告诉记者，活动由无锡市外办、市科技局、市青年联合会联合主办，面向海外优秀科创人才开展邀约。活动的核心目的，就是让海外青年和无锡本地青年深度交流互动，搭建长期联系；同时，希望促成彼此长期合作，吸引海外青年来锡就业、创业，政府部门也会全力扶持。

Over the six-day journey, Chinese and foreign youth came to know each other and the city through relaxed interactions. Shi Bo, a staff member of the Jiangyin Science and Technology Bureau's talent division, formed friendships with Korean campers, exchanging ideas on beauty and skincare projects and giving small gifts. Jordane, a master's student from Nîmes University in France, fell in love with Wuxi's nightscape—"When I return home, I will tell my friends that the whole city of Wuxi is stunning." Serbian youth Ostojić made friends from around the world during the camp and is interested in pursuing postdoctoral studies in China, hoping for collaborative development between enterprises on both sides.

　　无锡K创青年营不只是一场短期研学，更致力于培育一批“国际青年科创使者”，搭建可持续的资源互通平台，为未来项目协作、技术交流、人才互访等埋下种子。六天行程，中外青年在轻松的相处中走近彼此、感知城市。江阴市科技局人才股科员史博和韩国营员结下了友谊，双方交流美妆护肤项目，互赠了小礼物；法国尼姆大学硕士乔丹迷上了无锡的夜色，“回国后，我会和朋友说，无锡整座城市都十分惊艳”；塞尔维亚青年奥斯托伊奇此行交到了世界各地的朋友，并有意到中国攻读博士后，期待双方企业协同发展。

As a strong manufacturing city, Wuxi has a solid industrial foundation and leads the country in many specialized fields, but it also needs to continuously broaden its global vision and absorb innovative ideas from international youth. "Youth are the most active force in sci-tech innovation and the best messengers of mutual learning among civilizations," said the Foreign Affairs Office official. The Innovation Youth Camp builds not just an activity platform, but a youthful bridge across mountains and seas. Though the camp session ends, the sparks of intellectual collision, the friendships forged, and the seeds of cooperation already sown will continue to grow and give rise to infinite possibilities.
